You will be taken on a journey combining the French language and Art History.
Sylvie proposes a lecture on Vermeer’s life and work. Vermeer is regarded as one of the best genre painters in the history of art, and one of the best portrait artists of the Dutch Golden age. He is best known for his meticulous rendered images of women. These are intimate genre paintings in which the subject is engaged in some everyday activity, usually in the light of a nearby window. Current exhibition (until 18/2/18) at the NSW Art Gallery of works from the Rijksmuseum, the renowned national collection of the Netherlands.
All classes are conducted 100% in French.
