Frustrated you can’t travel to France at the moment? Let us bring France to you!
We are very happy to be hosting a French wine tasting in our school in St Ives, on Tuesday 4 May at 6pm.
This tasting will be presented by two wine specialists: Stephane Pommier, Head Sommelier in a two chef hat restaurant, and Pierre Toumanoff, winemaker at Krinklewood vineyard in the Hunter Valley.
Stephane and Pierre will be introducing us to four sparking wines from different regions of France, including one champagne. More than a tasting experience, you will learn about how these wines are made, what makes them different, and how to best enjoy them.

The wine specialists
As a young boy growing up in the village of Chablis in France, Stephane found himself spending many hours sitting at the table next to his father and his friends who were winemakers, absorbing their passion.
In 2004 Stephane moved to Australia and started working for McWilliam’s Winery, then became a Sommelier at Rock Restaurant in the Hunter Valley. Today Stephane is the Head Sommelier at two chef hat restaurant Muse in the Hunter Valley. From the dirty boots of the terroir picking grapes to the clean pressed suit pouring your glass, Stephane has worked for over 25 years in the wine industry and he still madly loves what he does!
