Our holiday workshops in St Ives (and selected activities offsite) are the perfect way to boost your skills in a relaxed, flexible format. Choose the focus you need — conversation, grammar, listening & pronunciation, or join one of our Immersion Days for a full French experience (workshop + activity + apéro).

FRENCH IMMERSION DAYS
Our Immersion Days are designed to go beyond the classroom. Each day combines a themed French workshop in the morning with a cultural activity in the afternoon — cinema, gastronomy, pétanque or art — followed by our much-loved apéro to finish the experience together.
You won’t just practise French — you’ll live it. Expect meaningful conversation, laughter, cultural depth and that special FALC atmosphere where learning feels natural, social and joyful.
ℹ️ Practical Information
- Transport between venues is provided throughout the day.
- Morning tea and apéro are included.
- Please bring your own lunch, or purchase something from nearby cafés during the break.
- Immersion Days run with a minimum number of participants (see each event for details).
FRENCH & PETANQUE

Avalon & St Ives

Experience the charm of a French village day — Australian style. We’ll head to Avalon for a friendly pétanque session at the Bowlo, playing and chatting in French just as you would in the south of France.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore village life in France through a cultural workshop back in St Ives — traditions, social rituals and community spirit — before gathering for apéro and games.
Relaxed, social and joyfully French.

Intermediate & Advanced students (B1+/B2+) are welcome to join the A2 and B1 Grammar Clinic & Listening & Pronunciation sessions if they’d like to do some revisions.
A1 Conversation Sessions follow a practical “French to Travel” approach.
Grammar Clinic
Wednesdays
Tackle tricky French grammar points, reinforce rules, and consolidate your accuracy in both speaking and writing.
Each week covers a different grammar focus. Expect a mix of explanation, guided practice, and real-life application.

Practice real-life conversations on current themes and boost your speaking confidence in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Topics are chosen week by week by your teacher, depending on the group.
