Our Focus Classes are the perfect complement to your General French or Conversation classes if you're looking at exploring a particular language point in depth or dive into French culture.
Taught by our expert native-French teachers, our Focus classes aim to give you a full experience in your language learning journey.

FOCUS PRONONCIATION & COMPREHENSION 1
Learn techniques and tips to sound more French by avoiding common mistakes such as :
- the difference between U and OU (douze voitures),
- the difference between I and U (un livre sur les voitures),
- the difference between U and UI (je suis sur), the sound R (bonjour, je pars).
Learn about letters pronounced or not pronounced at the end of the word
- with the E not pronounced (ie: elle s’appelle Marie)
- with most consonants except for a few at the end of the word (ie: vous parlez francais)
- with the S (‘Z’ sound pronounced or not pronounced at the end of the word (ie: un anglais / une anglaise)
- The elision : L’ami, J’ai, C’est fini
- The rhythm in French : word groups (un verre d’eau + un café crème) & regular syllables (un cho-co-lat chaud)
With the support of communicative activities including listening and reading exercises.

FOCUS PRONONCIATION & COMPREHENSION 2
Do you wish to sound more French, understand better French people and be better understood? Here is a course for you!
This course will cover a range of revision and tips to help you achieve your goal.
We will look at
- the nasal sounds (difference between the sounds ON and AN (le manteau est long), between the sounds AN et IN (les grands magasins), between the sound A and AN (la tante de Lea).
- the nasal sounds change in the feminine (les voisins / les voisines).
- specific sounds :
difference in OU et EU (deux feux rouges)
difference in U and EU (je veux du sucre)
- Make the difference between the sounds Z and J (elle visite le Japon)
- Revision of all linking words ( the ‘z’ sound, the ‘t’ sound, the ‘n’ sound)
